  • Havva and Hasan are the heart behind this beautiful family-run café, and you can feel their love in every detail. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by Martina whose energy was so warm and genuine that it immediately set the tone for the day. The food was absolutely delicious , homemade, comforting, and deeply fulfilling. I haven’t had such a lovely café day in a long time, and this one truly stood out as my favourite. The space itself is beautifully decorated, with multiple lights hanging from the ceiling that creates a cozy, inviting glow. The seating is incredibly comfortable, and the noise level is just right , it’s lively but never overwhelming. It’s the kind of place you want to linger in. We tried the Avocado Toast, featuring smashed avocado topped with perfectly poached eggs, feta, chilli flakes, and wild rocket, all served on sourdough bread. It was satisfying, balanced, and executed perfectly. The Steak and Eggs was just as impressive, steak served with two fried eggs, grilled tomatoes, mushrooms, and a homemade chimichurri sauce on sourdough. Rich, hearty, and full of flavour. But the absolute star of the show was the sticky toffee pudding with homemade custard. The sweetness was perfectly balanced, and the custard was so good I could genuinely eat it all day, every day. You can truly tell this is a family business that pours love into their food. The attention to detail is immaculate, the service is kind and genuine, and the experience as a whole is unforgettable. It is perfect for any celebration, or a perfect first date spot as you can stroll along the river after brunch. Hands down one of the best cafés I’ve been to in London. Will definitely be back.

  • Went on Tuesday with a friend and were met with friendly greetings from staff and were immediately seated. We noted how beautiful the cafe was, it was really nice, with each individual table spread out far enough to have that individual feel of one’s party but not too much so in losing that cozy feeling. As it is a family owned cafe, was really excited to try the cafe to support a family business and spread the word. My order: Pineapple Juice (£3.30), Honey Mustard and Chicken Wrap with Sweet Potato Chips (£13.95 + £1 for sweet potato chips) and Chocolate Fondant cake (£7.95). My total meal came up to £26.20 but with 12.5% service charge paid £29.45. The pineapple juice was really refreshing, and whilst I opted for the juice out of the carton option, with the added ice there was not much difference in the taste. Great as a little drink to get the palate going! The Honey Mustard and Chicken Wrap with the sweet potato chips was well seasoned, sweet and refreshing. You also cannot go wrong with sweet potato chips, they were the right balance of crisp and sweet! Also received some mayo and it was really yummy! It was a beautiful play of flavours dancing on my tongue and I really enjoyed it! By my goodness that Chocolate Fondant cake. Gooey, not too rich and the perfect balance of sweetness and warmth was a perfect dessert to top everything off. When I told my server (didn’t catch his name unfortunately) he recommended it saying that it was his personal favourite and he was not lying it was really nice and for just under £8 a great dessert with great ingredients. You can really tell that a lot of effort has gone into this family owned and run establishment, from the decor to the atmosphere to the food, I really recommend anyone thinking about a little breakfast/brunch place to check this place out. Even the personalised plates showed that extra level of detail and touch to add to this place! The staff are all so welcoming and check up you to make sure you’re okay but also keep a good distance for you to enjoy your meal and talk. Even after myself and friend finished our meals we sat there for a while before leaving and also really enjoyed that view of the Thames and other parts of London . The weather being nice helped but even if it was raining the place is really nice. The River Gardens Café is a great brunch place in Greenwich, with its cozy and comforting charm going well with its likeable menu items. The laidback vibe makes you feel that you can take things and your own pace. From the staff, to the decor and even being a dog friendly cafe it is a real gem in Greenwich! If you’re in the area and want a café spot check out the River Gardens Café! Will definitely be back

  • Classic breaky selection on the menu. Great food and coffee. Can recommend the pancakes and Garden Royale! Coffee is flavoursome and delicious well worth the decent prices and what a great location. We really appreciate the community feel, fantastic service, and quality - locally sourced, small batch ingredients. Looking forward to coming back in the new year!

  • Visiting The River Gardens Café fir lunch was a pleasurable and memorable experience to say the least. From point of entry we were greeted by a female members of staff who I assumed was also the possible owner; friendly, welcoming, smiley and inviting is a small description in comparison to there service I received. The decor itself beautiful and the views, stunning! We were shown to our seats, and our orders were taken. The Café had the mummer of other diners, the staff all showing great enthusiasm as they attend to the diners, staff seemed genuinely happy to help and ensure diners needs were met. We order our meal (Traditional Fish & Chips) which was absolutely delicious! Portion size absolutely worth the money! While there were an array of desserts on this occasion we did not indulge however I plan on going back for coffee and a cake! I would certainly recommend visiting The River Gardens Café!

  • I really enjoyed my experience at this café with a friend on Sunday afternoon. It is a fantastic place to come for a glass of wine and something to eat before a show at the O2 arena. We found it easily accessible via the water taxi from the nearby pier. The staff are welcoming and professional. The menu was varied and the food and drinks that we ordered were absolutely delicious. The view across the water to the Isle of Dogs skyline is so impressive. I'll definitely be coming back next time I'm in London for sure. Thank you for providing this special place! We were not at all affected by the temporary scaffolding.

  • My friends booked this waterfront café on the Thames for brunch on Sunday morning as part of a celebratory birthday weekend. The owners and staff were lovely and welcoming and the menu had a great variety on offer at reasonable prices. Coffee was amazingly smooth, I just had to have another cup! We liked it so much we went back again later for drinks and cakes.
